Roxxi Red
DMV Songstress + bars & beats
Between smooth and emotionally charged pop and R&B music, and gritty, provocative hip hop, Virginia based independent artist Roxxi Red has managed to carve out a unique foothold for herself within the music industry. Both sugar and spice, choirgirl and juggalo, the songstress has learned to masterfully walk the line between underground and mainstream, attracting fans from both sides.
Roxxi Red, born Laura King, has been singing since she could speak. Most of her early music experience came from participating in various church, touring, and university choirs, as well as performing in musical dinner theater productions and receiving private classical instruction from renowned soprano Toni Crowder.
In 2012 Roxxi signed with the Richmond, VA based label XRECORDS, but after a few years decided that she wanted to try going the independent route. She began the process of finding her sound by teaching herself how to play the piano and guitar, and how to produce her own beats. To better understand the technical and legal intricacies of the music industry, she enrolled as a Music Business major at Full Sail University. It did not take her long to start turning heads, especially after accidentally discovering that she had a knack for rapping too. Since then, she has been featured on multiple projects from other artists, toured across the United States, and founded her own corporation, Roxxi Red Inc. Her fans love watching and growing with her as she continues to evolve musically.
Roxxi is a co-founder of the music group T.R.1.N.E, now Petty (pettysucks.com). Roxxi now regularly works full time as a session singer, producer, astrologer, and songwriter.
